Approaching a new academic year West Somerset College were looking for a fresh prospectus to show off just how brilliant they are to their prospective new students, using their current brand, colour palette and images to bring college life to the page.
I had worked with the team at West Somerset College previously on different projects so we had a great working relationship and could getting cracking quickly, I sketched out a paper prototype to give everyone the feel for the flow of the pages and where the various content would sit within the prospectus design. Once we had made a few amendments to that I could get to work on the graphics in Illustrator. The purple of the palette is fantastic and they have some really great images so I wanted to let them do a lot of the heavy lifting and keep the graphical elements to a minimal, going for a full bleed centre spread and some subtle shaping to the imagery throguhout.
A modern prospectus that uses some print size changes and clean design to stand out amongst the other offerings, the prospectus was printed and distributed widely and got lots of great feedback.
