Prospectus design for a Somerset school
Stanchester Academy is well known for its welcoming atmosphere built on the strong relationships between staff and students. Their academic approach is for every student to enjoy learning. They strive to ensure that teaching standards are high, children feel safe and supported in school, and that lessons follow a knowledge-rich and rigorous curriculum.

The brief
With a new school term on the way for the good people at Stanchester Academy it was time to make a fresh new prospectus to show the new intake of students all the reasons they should join Stanchester. They were looking for a simple, bold design that utilised their great collection of photos and blended in some graphic sections. The prospectus needed to be served up in two versions, one print ready for a 500 run and a PDF version for users online.
The result
The first order of business was size and shape, we wanted to making something that didn’t fall slap bang into your average paper size so we leant into a square design. One of the first things that stood out to me when looking through the content that had been shared was the great quality images. We had it on good authority from feedback that seeing the academy in action through it’s imagery was going to do a lot of the heavy lifting when it comes to attracting new students.
I was keen not to hit readers with too many walls of text to sift through so I broke those pages up with some graphical elements like the full page ofsted quote and the double page spread. This all resulted in an engaging prospectus that was a hit with both staff and students.
