My customer is the proud owner of three cottages on a golf course, sound pretty idyllic if you like a few rounds! They came to me to discuss getting a website designed and built, up until that point they had been taking bookings for the cottages through the golf course and wanted to expand the reach out past that market.
There was a logo and the beginnings of a brand in place that had been used in printed materials that were displayed in the golf course so we used those to start building out the website. One thing led to another and sketches turned into designs. Everyone was happy with the direction we were taking so I started building the website out into the Modx CMS so the customer could have control over content and images going forward. The cottages are beautiful inside and in a love part of the world, even if you don’t like golf, so I we were keen to showcase that on the website. The customer was keen to keep the build simple so we avoided an online booking system and opted for a simple contact form for people to express interest.
A new presence for the cottages online, expanding the market outside of golfers and into the wider public allowing the cottages to appeal to more people and showcase the wider area they are in. The guest at the cottages grew and we maintain a steady flow of guests coming through the website.
